What would the world look like if women felt better in their own skin?
Be Seen
A self-development retreat day for courageous women
who want to break free and Be Seen.

Sunday March 5th 2023

Is this you?

Do you look in the mirror and feel uncomfortable? Perhaps ashamed - or an imposter in your own skin?

Have you ever thought "I'll do that [add amazing thing] when I'm a stone lighter"?

Or perhaps signed up for a 'new year, new you' deal?

Are you a 'turn the lights off' kind of person, when things are getting intimate?

Or perhaps you've placed an order at midnight for a weighted hula hoop or some other home workout equipment.

Are you a constant dieter or gym fanatic - trapped in the cycle of *needing* to look a certain way?

What about "people who look like me, don't do that" - has that ever gone through your head?

Does it feel like the way you look holds you back from hobbies, fun with your family, or career goals?

Does it make you physically sick worrying about the world your children are inheriting - one where the way you looks seems to be key to every success?

Yeah... Us too.

𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 if you didn’t worry about how you looked? If you went about your daily life without any of the hangovers above?

𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦? 𝘋𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴...

Be Seen

A self-development retreat day led by Laura from LB Therapy and Rebecca from Rebecca Holmes Photography
Sunday 5th March 2023
9:00 (for 9:30 start) till 5pm
Edinburgh Zoo Mansion House, MacMillan Room

Focus on you

We believe you will leave this retreat day feeling motivated by spending some time on yourself, surrounded by like minded women who 'get it'.
You spend so much time caring of everyone else in your life, making sure they feel supported and loved. Yet you talk badly to yourself and about yourself. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥!

Take time to explore

• Why collectively, women struggle with their self-image - from the evident societal pressures to the hardwiring in our brain
• How we feel about other's view of us and how we view ourselves
• The idea of self-worth and what that means to you
• How our self-image impacts our lives - both in the mundane day to day, and as we work to achieve our goals
• Breaking old patterns - practical, doable, easy steps to help you start to shift gears!

Take action

• You will leave with a mind shift on how you view yourself and feel empowered to take that control back.
• You will leave with strategies and an action plan for moving forward with more head space and the freedom that you deserve.
• You will have the opportunity to face the fear and get in the photo, taking home a beautiful portrait to treasure. This is entirely optional and only if you feel ready to #BeSeen.
• You will have a delicious lunch, and refreshments throughout the day. Plus free, easy parking and plenty of breaks to enjoy the Zoo's beautiful surroundings are included.

"Laura is amazing becuase she is awesome and helped me move through so much stuff and this is going to be a really awesome testimonial for Laura."
"Here is going to be an awesome testimonal for Rebecca and what she knows about stuff. Not sure where to get that yet."

Who are we?

Laura Bremner
Awesme Occupational Therapist
LB Therapy
I’m an award-winning photographer with over two decades of experience taking photographs professionally. I'm also a holistic kinesiologist and creative business mentor who has spent countless hours helping others on their life paths.

Key to this workshop is that I am also a recovering photo-avoider. I have managed serious self-worth and body-image issues for most of my life.

In order to improve as a photographer (and as a human), I've spent years researching the reasons why we find being in front of the camera difficult. I discovered a link between being seen and self-worth, studied the impact of hiding ourselves both on mental health and life trajectory, and sat with many women as they processed feelings of shame and sadness around being seen.

My own journey of self-discovery has been intrinsically linked to my development as a photographer, and I am now known for being the go-to photographer for the photo shy.

I'm really looking forward to leading this workshop with my dear friend Laura. I can't wait to share my journey and help others to explore their truth around self-esteem and body image.
