Looking for a welcoming, well-equipped photography studio that doesn’t feel intimidating or clinical? 

The Light Room offers a modern, white-walled space filled with natural light, plants, props and all the bits and pieces you might need to bring your shoot to life - with tea, coffee and biscuits always included, of course.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or just getting started, you're very welcome to hire the space. It's perfect for portraits, headshots, brand shoots, small product photography, mini sessions, editorial work or quiet creative play.

Location & How to Find Us

The Light Room is part of the Rebecca Holmes Photography Studio, right in the heart of Linlithgow - a charming, historic town full of heritage buildings, lochside walks and brilliant local cafés and pubs (perfect for a post-shoot debrief or a quiet lunch break).

You’ll find the studio at 129A High Street, tucked just behind Bryerton House (home to EKJN Architects). To get to the entrance, simply walk between EKJN Architects and Fair Tradewinds - we’re in the white building at the end of the path on the left.

Driving?
Park on the High Street if there’s space, or head to the Vennel car park (off Kirkgate, near the Burgh Halls). It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the studio, with a small parking fee Monday to Saturday.

Coming by train?
Hop off at Linlithgow Station, turn left onto the High Street and walk for about five minutes. You’ll find us on the left, just before you reach the old church.

Pricing and hire info

The Light Room is available to hire from 9 am to 10 pm, seven days a week. Bookings are made online via the booking link below. Or you can get in touch if you want to talk through your specific requirements. 

Rates:

  • £25 per hour
  • £90 half day
  • £180 full day

Includes:

  • Full use of the space
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits always included
  • Equipment included at no extra charge (excluding paper backdrops)

Please note: The maximum width of a backdrop at the studio is 2.2 metres. The studio works best with a maximum of 6 people in it. It's possible to fit more, but it would be tight. 

Outdoor options right on your doorstep

Just a short walk away, you’ll find Linlithgow Loch, green spaces and cobbled streets - perfect if you'd like to add a few natural light portraits or environmental shots to your shoot.

You're welcome to pop out and return during your booking, or use the loch as your primary location and return to the studio for client delivery or changeovers.

Good to know

Hirers are asked to please leave the space tidy and as you found it. Any breakages are the responsibility of the hirer. The studio is in a shared courtyard, so please be mindful of noise levels, especially in the evenings.
