Fine Art Children's Portraits

Fine Art School Portraits in based Linlithgow, Central Scotland

Fine Art Nursery Photography based in Linlithgow, Central Scotland

As the mum of three daughters I am all too familiar with the standard school photographs produced each year and, like many parents, I’ve more than once bought these photos out of a sense of obligation. Rarely however, have I hung any on our walls.

I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that the images are generic, unremarkable and tired.

So, I set out wanting to create something different. Something natural, timeless and relaxed.  Photographs that not only bring our children’s uniqueness to life but also images that capture the essence of who they really are.

I have created a school and nursery photography experience that is distinctive and fun. I produce photos that show children at their best; capturing their character without the forced smiles. My photography is the kind people want to proudly display on their walls. In short, I offer a boutique photographic service, at a school photo price.

So what makes me different from other school photographers?

I am an experienced child and family photographer of two decades standing and run a thriving business photographing families. It’s a cliché, but I love what I do! I have a relaxed and fun manner, which children respond well to. With me, having your photo taken is a fun, enjoyable experience, rather than a ‘say cheese’ chore. As a result, my photographs are more natural, relaxed and individual.

'She has such a natural way with kids that easily brings out their personalities'

We are delighted with the school photos Rebecca did of our kids. They were so much better than the options we got from the company within the school. She has such a natural way with kids that easily brings out their personalities in the photos. I have never put a school photo on my wall yet - as the kids just didn't look like themselves in them - but the ones Rebecca took will not need to stay in the drawer.

Why choose me to photograph your school?

As a Mum of three girls, I understand just how tricky it can be to coordinate children to sit in front of a camera. Some can't wait and come with their 'photo ready' pose, and others would rather hide in a corner!

I have been photographing children and families for two decades. I make it my mission to make every photo session fun and easy. I have an excellent rapport with children and am brilliant at creating a very relaxed environment where even the most photo-shy feels comfortable.

I am also very professional and offer the highest of customer care. I will be on hand to help with any queries either you or your parent/carers have right through the process.

My goal is to capture children, at their best, with maximum ease for school and teachers.

'I'll love looking at them forever'

The kids said that they liked being photographed by Rebecca because it was fun and not too serious and they liked the photos of themselves. I just loved how every photo captured a look I've seen them make before and they make me smile so much. I'll love looking at them forever.

'Fun and friendly approach'

I recently took my daughters to a school uniform photo shoot with Rebecca Holmes as I'd never been particularly pleased with the official ones taken in school.
Rebecca's friendly and fun approach put both my daughters at ease straight away. She was professional and efficient, whilst taking the time to make sure details were just right.
She created a lovely relaxed environment and captured beautiful natural and joyful moments between my daughters, with a good selection of different shots to choose from. The best school photos ever, I would highly recommend!

'Best school photos I have had in years'

Rebecca ensured that my daughter was relaxed so she didn't put on her 'photo pose' but was her natural self.
The results are the best school photos I have had in years. I'm happy to send copies to Grandparents, Aunty and Uncles this year!

'She'd captured each child beautifully, with their personality shining'

My children are 9, 7, 5 and 5 and all have additional needs. Getting photographs is never an easy task! With the youngest two starting school this year I was excited about having a school picture with the 4 of them together, but based on past experience, knew I would probably end up disappointed. When Rebecca Holmes Photography offered school picture sessions, I jumped at the chance. The experience itself was perfect. Rebecca worked quickly and smoothly round the children's anxieties and quirks, making them all feel at ease in a short space of time.

Then came the proofs. I opened them and actually cried with joy. They were perfect. She'd captured each child beautifully, with their personality shining and it was obvious they were relaxed and feeling comfortable from the smiles at the camera. The pictures of all 4 together are perfect and I will come to Rebecca every year from now on. I am delighted.
