Capturing the magic of live performance

I’ve always loved the buzz of live theatre — that instant when the curtain lifts, the first note rings out, or a scene takes your breath away. Those moments disappear in a heartbeat, but they’re the ones we never want to forget. That’s where photography comes in. As both a performer and a photographer, I know exactly how to hold onto them.

an absolute joy to work with

Becs captured the energy and spirit of Rock of Ages perfectly. Her photos weren’t just documentation - they told the story of the show, highlighting both the big, electric moments and the quiet, intimate ones. She was professional, creative, and an absolute joy to work with. The images have been a huge asset for promoting the production and celebrating the cast’s hard work. I can’t recommend her enough for theatre photography.

Why work with a fellow performer?

I’ve been on stage since I was three years old - first as a dancer, then as a musician, and now performing in sell-out, five-star shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and producing shows as the volunteer President of an Amateur theatre company.

I know what it feels like to be up there - pouring your heart into a character, a song, or a piece of choreography - I can anticipate the action, read the energy of a scene, and capture the exact split second that tells the story - that encapsulates the energy.

Photography isn’t just about recording a performance. It’s about honouring the craft, the thrill, and the connection between performer and audience.

Production photography for theatre, dance, and music

Whether you’re a theatre company, dance school, or band, I create powerful imagery that works for both marketing and memories. I work with both professional and amateur companies alike, and with both adults and children's theatre and dance companies. I create striking, shareable images that help sell and commemorate your show.

Theatre Productions

Striking, story-driven photographs for theatre productions of all sizes. I offer marketing photoshoots ahead of your show, as well as live coverage during performances. We can work in the studio or on location, with or without an audience, during rehearsals or live shows. The aim is always the same: to capture the energy, emotion, and craft of the production in a way that works beautifully for marketing, press, and legacy.

Dance Show & Schools

Dynamic, expressive photography for dance schools, companies, and productions. From promotional imagery and dress rehearsals to live performance coverage, I capture movement, emotion, and connection at their peak. Sessions can take place in the studio, on location, or on stage, and I’m equally at home photographing professional companies or youth and community dance, creating images that performers and families will treasure.

HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY

Natural, casting-ready headshots for actors, dancers, and musicians. I offer headshot sessions for individuals or groups, whether you’re updating your Spotlight profile, preparing for auditions, or refreshing your online presence. Sessions can take place in the studio or on location, with time to create a range of relaxed, professional images that show your personality and what makes you unique.

Why production photography matters

As a producer myself, I know that strong, reliable imagery is a practical necessity, not a luxury. The photographs you have of a show directly affect how it’s marketed, programmed, funded, and remembered.

Good production photography allows you to:

  • Promote your show clearly and confidently across marketing, social media, and press

  • Present your work professionally to venues, festivals, funders, and collaborators

  • Build a strong visual record of your company’s output over time

  • Provide performers and stakeholders with high-quality images that reflect the standard of the work

Live performance exists for a moment. Considered photography ensures the work continues to live on long after the final performance.

Let's Chat About Your Production

excellent from start to finish

Rebecca took our production photographs for the Linlithgow Players' annual pantomime and did an excellent job from start to finish. She was professional and unobtrusive when taking photos of our actors in action and took charge effectively when organising a full cast photograph. She worked to a tight deadline to get photos to us electronically for press release and went the extra mile in selecting photos for us that would work best for that purpose. She also set up a front of house slide show for our audience to view the production photos which was another additional piece of work that she volunteered willingly. Her photos were of an excellent quality - a great variety of full stage shots and more detailed "action" portraits of individual characters, capturing the colour and fun of the show and the enjoyment for all involved. These have really enhanced our website experience for anyone viewing our most recent production photographs. We would recommend her, for her professionalism and the quality of her work and would definitely work with her again in the future.
