Capturing beautiful, heart-bursting images of your family

in a gentle, natural and relaxed way

Here we go! Life as you know it is about to change. Whether you’re expecting or in the throes of early parenthood, life is one big rollercoaster at the moment, am I right? This is such a special time: one that may never roll round again.

Time moves so fast, one moment you’re holding a brand-new baby in your arms, the next, you’re waving them off to secondary school, then college. Having a set of relaxed, natural portraits taken of you and bump or you and baby is a gorgeous thing to do. You’ll look back at these photos and wonder how they were ever so small.

incredibly talented

Wow Rebecca! I have goose bumps! You’re so incredibly talented! Thank you so much for doing such an amazing job, you really saw my vision! I’ll be recommending you to everyone I know!

As a mum of three, I totally understand how intense it can be, welcoming a new addition to your family. Whether you’re first time parents or welcoming an addition to your brood, it is an intense and wonderful time. Life as a parent is a mixture of painfully slow nights and exceptionally quick years. Before you know it your tiny baby is heading off to secondary school.

You will be so happy that you captured these memories, to be enjoyed for years to come.

However, inviting a stranger into your life as your maternity, birth or newborn photographer is a big thing! This is a very private and sacred time in your life – whoever you invite into your journey needs to be ‘just right’. You want the process to be easy, safe, relaxed. You want someone who enters your home with a nurturing, calming presence.

You want someone who won’t bat an eyelid if the place is a mess, and you’ve not had a shower for days.

ALL of my clients say the thing they love most about working with me is my warm and relaxed nature. I fit in just like a close family friend, taking everything in my stride, and bringing plenty of calm experience with me.

A session with me is effortless, with results that will be cherished for a lifetime.

wouldn't it be great if

you could have an easy, relaxed photography session that’s enjoyable AND produced stunning natural images of you and your family, to be hung on your wall and treasured always?

Booking and preparing for your photography session

If you like what I do, we start by scheduling a chat on either phone or video call. It’s completely chilled, non-salesy chat to give us a chance to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. I’ll listen to what you’re looking for, and I’ll explain how I work to see if it’ll be good for you.

If you decide to book, you’ll be sent a welcome pack, with lots of information to help you prepare (and a wee sweet treat to keep you going!).

Where, when and how?

Your comfort is really important to me. There’s nothing worse (in my opinion) than hauling a heavily pregnant or postpartum body halfway across town to get great photographs.

Your session can take place wherever is best for you. Be it in your home, outdoors at a local park, in the hospital.

Sessions are led by you and your family – how you’re feeling on the day. Maternity sessions might be a nice stroll in a local park. Birth photography happens wherever the birth happens. Newborn and baby photography often starts at home, then migrates outside if the weather’s nice. Flexibility and comfort are key.

But won’t it be weird? I’m worried about being in front of the camera.

One of my superpowers is my ability to make even the most camera-shy feel comfortable. I will give you lots of tips ahead of the session to help you prepare, and on the day I guide you in exactly what to do and how to do it to ensure you’re never left wondering what to do with your hands!

Trust me. As a recovering photo-avoider I totally get it. I will help you every step of the way.

EVERYONE comes away from a session with me saying how easy it was, and how much they enjoyed it.

We had such a lovely morning with Rebeca. All so relaxed which comes across in the photographs. She is absolutely amazing with the children and managed to calm both of them down all morning, which is no mean feat! A true child-whisperer! Thanks so much!

Who am I?

I’m an award-winning photographer with over two decades of experience taking photographs professionally. I’m also a wife, and mum of three who loves both good coffee and fantastic G&Ts.

I am warm, gentle and super easy going. There is literally nothing that can phase me.

I’m a keen follower of the positive birth movement and an avid researcher of all things birth and baby. I’ve had three very different pregnancies and three very different births.

I’m also a low milk supply, colic and reflux mum-warrior and none of my children slept through the night till they were well over two (I’ll be paying back the sleep deficit for AGES!).

Here are some photos of me and my brood…

From bump, to very new newborn, to six-week-old or six-month-old, let’s make some beautiful memories, either out and about or in the comfort of your own home.

  • Sessions don’t have a time limit, we’ll photograph as long as we need, and are comfortable. Maternity sessions usually last 90 minutes, family sessions 2-3 hours.
  • The session fee is payable at the time of booking and includes all preparation materials and calls including tips on what to wear.
  • After your session, you’ll be sent a slideshow of the images. From this slideshow, you can choose which package of images and print credit you’d like to purchase.
  • Sessions include the whole family.

£99 weekdays or £199 weekends

All of my collections include a mix of digital file and print credit, enabling you to choose exactly which products you’d like as part of your package. My collections start at £399.

At home or in the hospital, I will document your birth story in an unobtrusive, quietly supportive way. Capturing some of the most special moments of your life.

  • I will be on call from 38 weeks until baby is born, 24 hours a day.
  • I will capture the preparation, birth and moments after as you bond with your beautiful new addition.
  • I can also be on hand to capture your new addition meeting family members.
  • I can attend at home, birth centre or hospital.

Packages from £850

Where will the photos be taken?

Maternity sessions can be held anywhere, your home, a park, a forest, the beach – wherever you like! With all babies I suggest starting at home first and either conducting the whole session there or half there, half outdoors. But please please please, don’t stress about cleaning your house! The aim of me coming to you is to make it easy for you, not stressful. I can assure you the state of my house will always be worse!

How old does my baby have to be?

Any age. I don’t set limits on how young or old your baby needs to be to get great photos. Every age has it’s own advantages and drawbacks. Very new newborns are very squishy and tiny, but they don’t usually have their eyes open or interact with the camera. Six month old’s can sit and interact with me, but might also crawl away… Some might take a little longer to photograph, but… Each age is adorable!

Do you do Fresh48 sessions?

Absolutely! Fresh48 sessions – a newborn session which takes place within 48 hours of baby being born can be done either in hospital or at home. They’re very special sessions which capture your gorgeous newborn at the very new-new stage. Rest assured I’ve been there three times – these sessions are super gentle and relaxed, for both mum and baby. And of course, I’ll make sure it’s beautifully flattering for the new mum – capturing all of the new-baby glow and less of the post-birth exhaustion!

Do you use props? Baskets, blankets, flowers etc.?

My aim is to capture babies as they are in their natural state. Not wrapped into balls and stuffed into baskets. However, I do bring a selection of neutral blankets to use should we need.

What about hygiene?

I adhere to the most rigorous hygiene standards. All my kit is wiped with antibacterial wipes before I attend a session and all blankets etc. are washed at 90 degrees. Inevitably I end up holding newborns during a session, so I also ensure I don’t wear any perfumes or toxic products on my skin (nothing worse than your baby smelling of someone else’s perfume!). I clean my hands thoroughly when I arrive at your home, and regularly top this up with antibacterial gel. If there’s any question at all about my health I will phone you ahead of time to discuss and most likely, reschedule.

What a pleasure to capture this wonderful family and their latest edition the other day! Due to Covid-19 this session was a little bit different from my normal newborn family photograhy; It was all outdoors (usually newborn sessions start indoors)Because it was...

I had SUCH a wonderful time photographing this family! The light was STUNNING! So many photographers focus their baby photography on very new newborns. I can understand why I guess - they're all tiny and fragile. And while I love photographing newborns, I also LOVE...

This family invited me to take some photos as they welcomed their newest addition. What a privilege! We met at their home in Dunfermline in the early afternoon. I don't think I've ever seen a big brother quite so devoted as this one. Whispering wee jokes into his baby...
