As an actor, your headshot is often your very first impression. Casting directors scroll through hundreds of faces - and yours needs to stop them in their tracks.

I’m Rebecca, and I create natural, striking headshots for actors, dancers, and musicians across Scotland. My aim is simple: to capture what makes you you - the spark, the presence, the individuality that will make a casting agent remember your face.

Why work with me?

I’m not just a photographer, I’m also a fellow performer and theatre-nerd. I’ve been on stage since I was three - as a dancer, musician and singer. I now regularly perform in five-star, sell-out theatre both at the Edinburgh Fringe and for various amateur and professional companies. I also produce musicals with my local amateur theatre company, and I'm both a Director and Musical Director. 

Because I’ve been on both sides - in front of the camera and behind it - I know what works for casting agents. I understand what Spotlight, online profiles, and agents are looking for, and I know how to help you show up at your absolute best.

Lots of photographers can take a “nice” picture of you. But that’s not what you need. You need headshots that:

I’ll also chat through your goals before the session - are you looking for drama school auditions, professional theatre, screen work, or musical theatre? Your headshots will reflect the path you’re aiming for.
Sessions are usually held in my studio in central Linlithgow - with easy access from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. However, there is also the option for me to come to you if you'd prefer.

Business Portraits by Rebecca Holmes
Performer headshots are traditionally done in a studio environment, but there's no reason why they have to be! I can bring a studio to you, or can meet you at a lovely outdoor location.
Yes, absolutely. I routinely retouch stray hairs, dark circles and blemishes. However, my policy is that the photo absolutely still needs to look like you, as you are right now. I will not change your dress size, make you ten years younger, or manipulate your shape in any way. This is a body-shaming-free zone, people. 
Don’t panic. One of my superpowers is helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera. We’ll talk through your concerns and fears, go really slowly and find a setting and pose you feel comfortable with. Trust me, it’s all going to be fabulous.
When you book in for a headshot session, I’ll send you lots of information on what to wear and how to do hair/makeup. I’ll even send you some Pinterest boards to peruse with lots of example photos. The key thing to remember? COMFORT.
Don’t worry, I’ll talk you through all of that. You won’t be left wondering what to do or feeling awkward at any stage. I’ll hold your hand every step of the way (not literally – that’d be weird).
