Studio mini-sessions are the perfect way to pause time, even for just a little while, and preserve this chapter of your family’s story.

In the hustle of everyday life, it’s easy to forget to take a moment to celebrate your family as it is right now. These sessions give you the chance to create something truly special—a keepsake you’ll look back on for years to come.

But what if my kids won’t sit still or smile?

That’s okay! I’ve been photographing children for well over twenty years - I've seen it all! (Plus I've three kids of my own who aren't angels!) Whether your kids are full of energy, shy, or somewhere in between, I speak their language—and we’ll capture those lovely, natural moments that reflect who they truly are. I can count on one hand the number of children who I haven't been able to get a nice, natural photograph of. I speak both 'threenager' and grumpy teen fluently!

But I don’t need to be in the photos… do I?

Please, please, please do! These photographs aren’t just for you; they’re for your children too. One day, they’ll treasure these moments—seeing the love, connection, and joy that you shared together.

ALL THE DETAILS

Sessions are held on set dates, usually one per month. Full availability can be checked via the calendar below.

The sessions are held at the RHP studio, 129A High Street, Linlithgow, EH49 7EJ.
There is car parking nearby, and it is only a short trip from Edinburgh by train or car.
Make it a day out with a walk around Linlithgow loch and lunch at a local cafe.

Family mini sessions are for capturing beautiful family photographs on a neutral backdrop - with your choice of a dark or light colour.

The photography session lasts for 20 minutes, which is plenty of time to capture family, sibling and individual photographs.

These sessions are best suited for children who can sit unaided. You're welcome to invite grandparents. However, a maximum of five people can be in the photographs at once. If you have a larger group please get in touch to book a full family photography session.

Mini sessions include a same day viewing and ordering session - so there's no need to wait to see your photographs.

Complimentary tea, coffee, juice and biscuits for the whole family to enjoy while you view your images.

£50 deposit to book your place. This fee is taken off your choice of package. The depost is non-refundable.

Who am I?

I'm Rebecca Holmes and I run a thriving family and commercial photography business covering Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond. I have been photographing families professionally for over two decades.

As a Mum of three, I know just how quickly each one passes as my children grow. It feels like yesterday I had my first baby in my arms... Now she's looking at options once she leaves school.

This is why I'm offering these mini sessions. I want to provide you with natural, relaxed, beautiful memories of your family in my warm and connected style.

INVESTMENT

A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required to book your place.

After your 20-minute studio photography session, you will have a short viewing and ordering session. This usually takes approximately 10 minutes and is a good time to enjoy the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.

You will view your images on a screen and be asked to choose between one of the following three packages. Your deposit will be taken off the amounts shown, and the balance of payment will be made by card there and then.

Please note, we do not accept cash payments.
